A BRAND THAT CARES EQUALLY AS MUCH ABOUT STYLE AS ABOUT FELLOW HUMANS.

Handle w/ Care is a platform for spreading social awareness and raising funds for much needed causes. The brand was launched at the Annual Teen Line luncheon in May 2019. The name Handle w/ Care is a play on words alluding to the connection between caring for clothes and the necessity of caring for other people. Handle w/ Care the brand, is the marriage of vanity and empathy.

Brynn Hochman is a 17 year old high school student living in Los Angeles. Brynn was inspired to write this book from her experiences overcoming her own fears and delivering wheelchairs (since the age of 8) to those in need all over the world. Brynn hopes to further her charitable work by using all the profits from the sale of this book to purchase and deliver more wheelchairs to the immobile. She says the gift of one wheelchair can not only change the life of the recipient. It can also change the life of up to ten other people who would otherwise help their loved one get around, sometimes in someone's arms or in a wheelbarrow.

After launching here in Santa Monica 6 years ago by visionary female founder Gregg Renfrew, Beautycounter is now the #1 clean beauty and safer skincare brand and is leading a movement to make all beauty clean beauty. Decades of studies show that serious health issues are on the rise and are due in some part to our on-going exposure to toxic chemicals. But beauty shouldn't be harmful, so Beautycounter promises that over 1,800 commonly used toxic ingredients are never included in our products and each ingredient is tested to meet extremely high standards.

About Ayuda

MADDIE AIBEL

As some of you may know, I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when I was 12 years old. Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease that prevents my pancreas from producing insulin. I’ve had to learn to check my blood sugar, count carbs, take insulin in order to live.  Managing diabetes is like a full time job that you can never quit, but I’m one of the lucky ones. I have access to amazing health care, especially my doctors, and a supportive community. Together with AYUDA's in-country partner organization, Aprendiendo a Vivir (AAV - "learning to live") and my fellow volunteers, we organize diabetes education initiatives for young people living with diabetes in the Dominican Republic. These initiatives include "Campo Amigo" a diabetes education camp for young people living with diabetes, and participating in outreach activities such as hospital and home visits. I am so excited to be able to continue my work with AYUDA this summer.
